Here I am world!


Hi everyone!

 

Thanks for checking out my new site here. =)

 

So many of you know me from instagram, and from yoga, but there’s so much more I’d like to share with you on top of my yoga practice.

 

First of all, I LOVE to cook. Mostly pretty healthy, but sometimes not. I believe everything in moderation can be just fine for you. I make homemade dinner almost every night, and I love to bake sweets on the weekends. For the most part, I eat pretty healthy. Green smoothies, lean meats (no, I am not totally vegetarian, but I tend to pass on meat quite a bit), fish, lots of veggies, and rice. That being said, my husband and I are both from the south so I do sneak in lots comfort food here and there. Think BBQ ribs, chicken and dumplings, sweet potato pie and big fat chocolate chip cookies. I try as hard as possible to scale down those recipes to somewhat healthier (but still delicious!) options.

 

As for working out, I do NOT just do yoga. I am actually a heavy weight lifter, which I started doing long before I started yoga. I used to get jealous when my boyfriend (now husband) used to spend so much time in the gym without me (teenage problems right? I know.), so I started going with him, and I started seeing some serious results on my body that I fell in love with. Here we are, 10 years later, and I never stopped going. I’m also pretty freaking strong, which is awesome too.

 

Next, the wanderlust. Oh the wanderlust. I want to go everywhere, and see everything. I used to be pretty content with my Carribean beach vacations, but now its too late. I’ve seen too much. After my extended road trip out west this year, seeing so many national parks, the mountains, the deserts, not the mention the pacific coastline, I just have to see it all. I want to document my travels and share my experiences with you, more then just in yoga pictures.

 

Over the next few days, to get things rolling, I am going to share some of my favorite recipes that I have on hand, and then I will continue with more as I make them.
